Last updated: 05/06/2013 00:00 Protect yourself from the daily solar radiation actually reduces skin aging related, the so-called photoaging. This is demonstrated by rigorous scientific study, which lasted more than 4 years, on a sample of 903 men and women, Australian and under 55 years of age.How did the study
Microtopography through the back of the left hand, the researchers found that the group was using a sunscreen with a protection index 15 daily reduction of skin aging by 24%, compared to the group who used sunscreen at its discretion. Participants included in the first group was asked to apply sunscreen to the face, neck, arms and hands, every morning, and repeat the application after a bath, a strong sweaty or spending a few hours outdoors. In the design of the study was also provided for the use of a daily supplement of beta-carotene or placebo, but did not show any effect on aging skin. Sunscreen therefore, defends against sunburn, prevent the development of skin tumors and maintains the skin's youthfulness. Beware the products, said Adele Green, co-author of the study, workshop leader and senior researcher at the Queensland Institute of Medical Research at the Royal Brisbane Hospital, "the beauty creams also contain sunscreen protection provide a brief, mind sunscreens last much long on the skin and provide longer lasting protection. A 2005 study in the journal Nature surveyed 3247 US researchers who were all publicly funded (by the National Institutes of Health). Out of the scientists questioned, 15.5% admitted to altering design, methodology or results of their studies due to pressure of an external funding source. In a contemporary study published in the New England Journal of Medicine, a similar proportion of the 107 medical research institutions questioned were willing to allow pharmaceutical companies sponsoring research to alter manuscripts according to their interests before they were submitted for publication.

STUDY DESIGN: A randomized clinical trial was conducted. OBJECTIVE: To compare the effectiveness of classification-based physical therapy with that of therapy based on clinical practice guidelines for patients with acute, work-related low back pain. SUMMARY OF BACKGROUND DATA: Clinical practice guidelines recommend minimal intervention during the first few weeks after acute low back injury. However, studies supporting this recommendation have not attempted to identify which patients are likely to respond to particular interventions

Should be mentioned.
I remember one of our tasks in school was to read peer-edited scientific journals and look for published studies with poor experimental design. A large percentage fell into that category.
I think this exact scenario (medical research using regression) was used as an example of why this type of study is not robust. If enough variables (traits) are included, eventually a few will show an association.
