Yes but for every dishonorable engagement

There are many honorable ones as well. The USNS COMFORT just ended a humanitarian tour to south america, performing some much needed surgeries and providing medical care to about 13 countries. It was a concerted effort by navy medical personnel and certain NGOs and it is amazing that they pulled it off. Take into account other peacekeeping missions and what the military does in other parts of the world I just can't agree with that statement.
We also have a naval medical research center in cairo that has done a lot with the bird flu and other communicable diseases. A lot of these countries have the $$ but not the medical expertise and for a pittance we can provide training free to them while they are able to bring much needed medical resources to their home country
